Hydrastorm Technologies Ltd is a Plymouth-based marine technology company focused on propulsion research and development.
Our first programme, MPVXX, was supported through Innovate UK and investigated how internal flow management and controlled geometry can influence propulsion behaviour within compact marine systems.
Founded by former Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer Marc Reffell, Hydrastorm combines operational experience with practical engineering, experimentation and evidence-led development.

Following completion of its initial Innovate UK-funded proof-of-concept phase, Hydrastorm is progressing CFD correlation, prototype optimisation and open-water validation. The company’s patent-pending propulsion architecture is being developed for autonomous, specialist and compact marine platforms requiring adaptable performance from a common propulsion system.
